Description of ingredients

Steviol glycosides
Steviol glycosides are a group of sweet substances produced from the stevia plant, which is grown on plantations in South America and Asia. Paraguay and China in particular are known as important producers of this special plant. After the stevia plant has been harvested, it is dried and undergoes an extraction process. This extracts the concentrated sweeteners from the plant, resulting in a precious white powder: steviol glycosides.

Erythritol
Erythritol is a sugar alcohol (polyol) obtained from plant sugars, which occur in fruit and fermented foods. These sugars are carefully mixed with water, after which they are fermented and crystallised. After a purification process, no fruit sugar or yeast remains in the erythritol.

Although erythritol is classified as a sugar alcohol, it is important to stress that it is neither a sugar nor an alcohol. The term "sugar alcohol" refers to the molecular structure of erythritol, which partly resembles that of sugars and alcohol.
