Ham on the Bone with Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients

Cranberry sauce is a red sauce made with cranberries that goes perfectly with a Christmas dinner

  • 550-650 grams ham on the bone
  • 2 dl orange juice or mandarin juice
  • Pinch of salt
  • 30 grams SteviJa Kristal®
    or
  • 15 grams SteviJa Zoetpoeder®
  • 350 grams cranberries
  • 2 tablespoons cornflour (dissolved in 4 tablespoons cold water)

Preparation

Prepare the ham according to the instructions on the packaging.
In a small saucepan, stir together the juice, salt and the Kristal and bring to the boil.
Add the cranberries and simmer gently until the berries have burst. Purée the sauce with a hand blender and sieve the sauce to remove all the pips.
Bring the sauce back to the boil and add the cornflour to thicken the sauce.

Cut the ham into slices and serve with the cranberry sauce.

Tips:
1. Also delicious with game, poultry and pancakes
2. For a slightly richer flavour, replace 1 dl of juice with 1 dl of port.
